PAYS D'ART ET D'HISTOIRE TRANSFRONTALIER LES VALLEES CATALANES DU TECH ET DU TER

Located in Prats-de-mollo-La Preste, on the site of La Verneda, a former textile factory that became a refuge for the exiles of the Retirada in 1939 and then a holiday camp, the Centre d'Interprétation de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine (CIAP) has been home to the headquarters of the Pays d'Art et d'Histoire Transfrontalier des Vallées Catalanes EGTC since 2022. It features a 400 m² permanent exhibition dedicated to the history and heritage of the area, using a variety of media (panels, models, videos, mapping). This cross-border region comprises 44 municipalities, 24 in the Pyrénées-Orientales and 20 in Catalonia, spread between Ripollès, Garrotxa and Alt Empordà. Awarded the label in 2010, it is developing activities in French and Catalan, including guided tours, events, activities for all ages and educational tools, guaranteeing the quality of its activities and the transmission of its heritage.
