The Chapel of the Trinity was originally a parish church known as Saint-Pierre de la Serra (serra meaning mountain in Catalan).
On 31 January 953, a church was consecrated by Bishop Riculf II - Bishop of Elne from 947 to 966. Only parts of the foundations probably remain from this construction.
The current building dates from the 11th century (the northern nave, the widest, with the large apse) and was enlarged in the 12th century, or even the 13th century. In the 17th century, the church changed its name to the Trinity.
The chapel has been listed as a historic monument since 12 June 19511.
The church has recently been restored, revealing traces of wall paintings.
