Regarding
Founded in the 12th century by Cistercian monks, Jau has had many owners who have shaped its appearance over the generations. All that remains of the Cistercian buildings is the superb square tower. The construction of the manor house in 1789 in a neo-classical style gave Jau a more noble appearance. On the menu, it's always the same simple, typical Roussillon fare: olive fougasse as an aperitif, bread rubbed with olive oil and fresh tomato to accompany Iberian sow's ham, tomato basket, lamb chops and grilled sausages, Roquefort cheese, orange corsair, vanilla ice cream & orange sorbet, coffee. All accompanied by wines from the estate: Côtes du Roussillon white, Jaja de Jau and Côtes du Roussillon rosé, Côtes du Roussillon Villages, Muscat de Rivesaltes and Rivesaltes Ambré.
