Regarding

Built on an oppidum, the ancient episcopal city boasts a majestic heritage.
The 11th-century Romanesque cathedral, visible from the sea or inland, announces the fascinating cloister of grey marble veined with blue.
Its construction began at the height of Romanesque art, and continued throughout the Gothic period. Its capitals evolve from the Romanesque of the Roussillon workshops of the 12th century to Gothic art, in a luxuriant flowering of original themes (plant, animal and religious).
This major site, listed as a Historic Monument, was the seat of the bishopric of Perpignan-Elne from the 6th century until 1602.
