DOMAINE FONTANEL
Regarding
The Domaine Fontanel, located in Tautavel in the foothills of the Corbières, covers 30 hectares, 20 of which are planted with vines. Production is focused on quality wines made using environmentally-friendly growing methods: reasoned treatments, ploughing, etc. Yields are very low, often less than 30 hectolitres per hectare. The wines are vinified in the traditional way, with a rational approach to inputs. Since 1989, these wines have been recognised in specialist magazines in France and abroad, and in numerous national competitions. Since 1864, 6 generations of winegrowers have worked to perpetuate the ancestral agricultural vocation of this small region in northern Catalonia and to make the most of a predestined terroir. In 1989, Pierre and Marie-Claude Fontaneil created Domaine Fontanel, the fruit of their two families coming together. In 2017, Elodie and Matthieu Collet took over, accompanied by Pierre.
