DOMAINE VAQUER
Regarding
Frédérique is an oenologist and... Burgundian! The estate's 15 hectares are situated at an altitude of 200 metres, on balconies from which you can see the sea. Domaine Vaquer wines are produced exclusively on AOC terroir of clay-siliceous hillsides. The reds, whites, rosés and Vins Doux Naturels come from the know-how of a family of passionate winegrowers. Fernand Vaquer, his father-in-law, was one of the first winegrowers to bottle his wine in the late 60s. A crazy idea at the time, as only sweet wines had this privilege, but one that many followed later. "I want to make wines that resemble their terroir and that resemble me," she says. And she proves it when she describes the vinification of the reds, with their finesse and elegance, the silkiness of the tannins and the more or less spicy aromas of the Grenache grapes. Visits and tastings by appointment only. Very old vintages available.
