Regarding

Corneilla, the seat of the Counts of Cerdagne and Conflent, owes its magnificent church to their proximity. It features an early Romanesque bell tower (11th century) but, above all, a 12th-century façade and chancel, built of large ashlar blocks and adorned with carvings. Formerly a collegiate church, it still houses its 13th-century choir stalls, three Romanesque statues of the Virgin Mary, a 14th-century liturgical cabinet and an alabaster altarpiece (the work of the great Catalan sculptor Jaume Cascalls, dating from 1346).
