Regarding
Like set in the cliff, the hermitage hides a “cave-chapel”. The hermits would have come and settled in the natural grottos of Galamus from the 7th century. They put the site under the protection of Saint-Antoine le Grand, patriarch of the monks of the desert.
Progressively, they built buildings, one of which was the bell tower. From 1482 to 1560, it was entrusted to the Franciscan. In 1791, as it became national property, it was sold by public auction.
