EXPOSITION "TRÉSORS SACRÉS"
Regarding
The exhibition "Trésors sacrés - Sept représentations du Christ au XIVème siècle" (Sacred treasures - Seven representations of Christ in the 14th century) is being organised as part of the celebrations to mark the seventh centenary of the cathedral of Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Perpignan.
The celebration of the seventh centenary of the cathedral of Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Perpignan is providing the Musée d'art Hyacinthe Rigaud with an opportunity to exhibit seven representations of Christ contemporary with the century that saw the birth of the building on 27 April 1324, the date on which the foundation stone was laid. It is around a copy of the reliquary statue of the Devoted Christ that the outstanding works conserved in the cathedrals, churches and chapels of Roussillon are brought together for the first time in the museum.
