LA TRAVIATA
The musicians, soloists and choir of the Orchestre Perpignan Catalogne will be performing one of the most popular operas in the world: La Traviata, by Giuseppe Verdi. This opera in three acts premiered on 6 March 1853 at La Fenice in Venice, to a libretto by Francesco Maria Piave, based on Alexandre Dumas fils's novel La Dame aux camélias (1848) and its stage adaptation in 1852.
La Traviata is the tragic story of impossible love in the 19th century, between a courtesan (Violetta) and a young bourgeois (Alfredo Gremont).
