During the XX century many artists came to Collioure. Matisse and Derain in 1905, then Valtat, Manguin, Puy d'Espagnat, Camoin, Peské. Later on, Pignon, Hanicotte, Picasso, Giner, Mucha, Perrot... Since 1980, ine the former house of senator Gaston Pams the museum developped its collection.
A residence for artists completes the activities of the museum since 1980.
