Regarding
Built to guard the French-Spanish border, Fort Lagarde overlooks the fortified town of Prats-de-Mollo-la-Preste. At the heart of the monument, a medieval signal tower dominates the keep, which was reinforced by Vauban from 1686 onwards. A military retreat route links the fort to the town, creating a remarkable architectural ensemble.
