Labels and brands promoting Pyrénées-Orientales, the guarantee for quality holidays!
Labels and brands are developed to indicate professionals and companies who comply with quality standards or to distinguish one product from another. They can guarantee the quality or origin of a product, validated by consumer or expert tests.
Tourisme et Handicap
Since 2002, the Pyrénées-Orientales Agency for Tourism Development has been aiming to improve the tourism offer for disabled visitors through the ‘Tourisme & Handicap’ brand (Tourism and Disability), formerly known as a label, awarded by the State.
This brand guarantees disabled access to sites for visitors with specific needs (motor, mental, visual and auditory).
Launched in 2003 by the Minister for Tourism, the ‘Qualité́ Tourisme’ brand (Tourism Quality) aims to help you choose your accommodation (hotel or campsite) for your holiday in the Pyrénées-Orientales.
Qualité Tourisme Occitanie Sud de France
This label makes it possible to unite the Occitanie Region’s quality initiatives commited to customer satisfaction under one symbol.
‘Sud de France’ falls within Qualité Tourisme, and applies to the whole tourism sector in the Occitanie Region: food outlets, hotels, campsites, cafés - bars, holiday apartments, holiday villages, bed and breakfasts, sites to visit, and outdoor activities.
It also applies within specific areas, such as wine cellars and points of sale for regional produce.
Grands Sites Occitanie Sud de France
The Grands Sites Occitanie Sud de France brand (Major Sites in Occitanie, Southern France) aims to promote heritage, cultural and historical sites in our region and to strengthen their appeal to tourists. Currently, 40 tourism sites in the region have been awarded the brand, 3 of which are in the Pyrénées-Orientales:
- Massif du Canigó – Pays Catalan
- Collioure on the Côte Vermeille
- Perpignan Méditerranée
Vignobles et Découvertes
This aims to promote tourism around wine and vines.
Created in 2009, the Vignobles & Découvertes label (Vineyards and discoveries) is awarded for a period of 3 years by Atout France, after a recommendation by the Superior Council of Wine Tourism. It has a wine tourism role offering a range of complementary tourist products and facilities (accommodation, food, vineyard visit and tasting, museums, events...), making it easier for visitors to organise their stay, and providing guidance on appropriate services.
Accueil Vélo is a national brand which guarantees a warm welcome and quality services along cycle routes for cyclists on the move.
