Regarding
Located in the south-east of the town, in the Capellans district, the Jardin des plantes de Saint-Cyprien covers 5 hectares.
Designed as a green setting with the help of the eminent naturalist-botanist Charles Naudin (1815-1899), this English-style garden, set around two lakes, contains more than 500 species from all over the world, including a remarkable bamboo grove, a magnificent collection of old roses and rare species such as Phœnix sylvestris, Catalpa, black walnut and honey locust trees...
The only site in the département to be awarded the 'Remarkable Garden' label, it hosts a wide range of events in summer (fascinating guided tours led by botany expert Valérie Joulin, exhibitions, classical, jazz and rock concerts, children's storytelling, Zen activities and yoga classes, etc.) and attracts almost 90,000 visitors a year.
