Regarding
These are the oldest monuments in our region. They are ossuaries, collective tombs that can be dated back to the First Metal Age. Specialists have identified twelve in the Albères massif. Argelès has two of them.
The Cova de l'Alarb dolmen was built using materials found on site. It consists of several slabs planted in the ground and a covering slab. The stone formwork that makes up the burial chamber was probably covered by a burial mound. A little higher up is the Collet de Cotlioure dolmen, deprived of its table, which lies nearby. Listed as historic monuments (1958), they remain precious witnesses to a little-known past.
