ELNE NIGHTS
Regarding
Tuesdays 15, 22, 29 July 5, 12 and 19 August are devoted to storytelling and musical tours.
This summer, the town of Elne is inviting storyteller Jordi Mach and musician David Codina to offer original night-time tours of the Cloister and Cathedral, open to a wide audience. In the hushed atmosphere of twilight, the sounds of the organetto will awaken forgotten tales nestled in the heart of the works of art. The storyteller becomes the interpreter of these whispers from the past, recounting some of the great moments in Elne's millennia-long history. As the story unfolds, under the glow of lanterns or torches, the silhouettes of historical or mythical figures and fabulous beasts are sketched out among the colonnades, before evaporating into the shadows. It's a unique opportunity to (re)discover the architectural and artistic heritage of the former bishopric of Elne, through anecdotes and legends!
