Nestling on the Vermeille coast, in the hollow of Capes Béar and Oulestrell, between sea and vineyards, this former dynamite factory, built by Alfred Nobel in 1870, was for over a century a major centre of industrial production. Between 2006 and 2008, the site underwent spectacular redevelopment thanks to the joint efforts of the Conservatoire du Littoral, as owner, and the Département, as manager. Now a haven of peace and nature, this 32-hectare green setting showcases the industrial history and memory of the site, as well as its natural heritage and Catalan maritime heritage through the boat restoration workshop.
