Built in the middle of the vestiges of the barracks, the Rivesaltes Memorial Camp, an unusual contemporary building designed by the architect Rudy Ricciotti, exhibits on more than 1000m2 the history of this camp which interned as early as 1941 the Spanish republicans, the Jews foreigners and Gypsies, to become from 1945 to 1947 center of depot of prisoners of war of the Axis and, from 1962, a transit camp of Harkis and their families.
