Regarding

Built amidst the remains of the barracks that witnessed the fate of over 50,000 people, the Camp de Rivesaltes Memorial is an extraordinary contemporary building designed by architect Rudy Ricciotti.
Over an area of more than 1,000 m2, it tells the story of the Rivesaltes camp, which interned Spanish republicans, foreign Jews and gypsies from 1941 onwards, before becoming a depot for Axis prisoners of war from 1945 to 1947 and a transit camp for the Harkis and their families from 1962 onwards.
The Memorial is also a reference point for the history of forced population movements during the 20th century, and raises questions about the movement of exiles today. A cultural, artistic and scientific programme (temporary exhibitions, conferences, screenings, etc.) is offered throughout the year.
