27 m high, the Cap Béar lighthouse is equipped with a 3-panel lens creating 3 successive white flashes every 15 seconds and has a range of 30 miles.
Its monumental ashlar base is built from Roquefort granite (Aude), the shaft from pink rubble and the corner chains from granite. The upper part is corbelled: false machicolations support an ashlar balustrade. The distinctive feature of the building is its circular shaft, which is completely covered in opaline tiles right up to the ceiling under the watch chamber.
