A beautiful walk to discover the treasures of the Cerdanya forest, with its deciduous trees, conifers, larches, mountain pines, Scots pines and spruces. The forest in Cerdanya is made up of deciduous trees (broadleaves) and evergreens (conifers, except for larches). The former form the characteristic hedged farmland of the Cerdan plateau and riverbank wooded areas. The fields are surrounded by poplars that have been cut low and pollarded. There are also willows, alders and ash. There are also some birch forests. As you gain altitude, the deciduous trees give way to a natural forest of mountain pine, which dominates up to 2,700 metres. Scots pine and spruce are coniferous trees which also feature in the rich botanical heritage of Cerdanya.
