The church of Sainte-Marie de Riquer is mentioned in papal bulls of 968 and 1011. The building had to be rebuilt during the 11th century. The building has undergone few changes since 1073. The listed church is decorated with frescoes, probably dating from the second half of the 12th century.
Every summer, the chapel hosts the Rencontres culturelles de Riquer (concerts, exhibitions, etc.).
