From 16 September to 30 October, the Maison de l’Histoire – Casa del Voló is hosting the exhibition ‘When Wood Meets Iron’, a tribute to two craftsmen from Boulogne who are no longer with us: Fernand Martinez and Gervais Bastouill.
Through a selection of their works, this exhibition invites the public to rediscover two forms of craftsmanship, two artistic sensibilities and two materials: wood for Fernand Martinez and iron for Gervais Bastouill.
An artistic and human encounter summed up in these few words: “Two materials, one passion: to transform and convey emotion.”
