The Miguel Caldentey schooner, a listed historic monument named after its first owner, was built in 1913 by a master carpenter in Palma de Mallorca. It was used to transport cereals, citrus fruits and building materials. Its main trading destinations were Mallorca, Barcelona, Marseille, Sète and Port-Vendres.
Today, the Miguel Caldentey is one of the very few examples of this type of schooner to have survived the test of time. It is also the largest sailing ship to be restored on the French Mediterranean coast.
