It is part of the green lungs aiming to separate the tourist units of Leucate and Barcarès. Owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral since 1980, this pine forest deserves to be protected because it is host to great ecological wealth.
It is made up of 3 distinct landscape and ecological entities. Established by humans about 50 years ago, it is mainly populated by maritime pines and pine nuts, however it is also host to exotic plant species, a sign of an old nursery previously established there.
