Regarding

Standing proudly in the centre of the bay of Collioure, the royal castle has watched over the town since the 13th century. Once the residence of the lords of Roussillon, then the kings of Aragon and Mallorca, it has been embellished and fortified over the centuries. Transformed into a citadel from the 16th century onwards and reinforced under the orders of Vauban, the castle bears witness to the age-old struggle for control of the frontier.
The Château Royal is ideally located in the centre of Collioure. It is one of the town's wonders, thanks to its history, beauty and imposing appearance. It was listed as a Historic Monument in 1922. The first fortification on this site was a Roman castrum.

The best way to make the most of your visit is to take a guided tour, which immerses you in the world of the château.
Shows and exhibitions are organised on a regular basis, and the castle hosts numerous events.
