From one landscape to another, you will begin with a gradual ascent through the forest, punctuated by intermittent viewpoints. You will then cross alpine meadows before reaching the Cortalets cirque at 2,150 meters altitude, about a two-hour walk from the Pic du Canigó. The staffed Cortalets refuge is ideally located to allow for a stop before or after the ascent.
