DOMAINE LA TOUR VIEILLE

The estate was born in 1982 in the heart of the village of Collioure, created by Vincent Cantié, then an agricultural engineer, from a few family vines and with the aim of preserving a real masterpiece: the terraced vineyard of the Banyuls and Collioure cru endangered by the expansion of the tourist economy. A few years later, Christine Campadieu would join the adventure and bring some vines from her own family. The cellar is now installed on the heights, where the tower, surrounded by its olive trees, overlooks the village and the Mediterranean. Under the sun of the Vermeille coast, the vineyard organized in terraces requires very reasoned and exclusively manual work, very close to that of the ancients. The steep slope and the nature of the very slate soil require a specific architecture: feches (terraces) delimited by dry stone walls, thus promoting the flow of rainwater, sunlight and facilitating work on foot.
