Domanial Forest of Canigou. Covering an area of 7,820 ha, this forest is located near Baillestavy, La Bastide, Casteil, Clara, Corsavy, Estoher, Fillols, Montbolo, Montferrer, Prats-de-Mollo-la-Preste, Py, Sahorre, St. Marsal, Taulis, Taurinya, Valmanya and Vernet-les-Bains. With an altitude ranging from 2 150 to 2 784 m, the natural heritage is very rich. Habitat: forest, heath, lawn. Wildlife: isard, wild cat, otter, deer, wild boar, Pyrenees desman, bats, rock ptarmigan, gray partridge, peregrine falcon, golden eagle, bearded vulture, big tetra, Tengmalm owl, apollo.
