The restoration and extension of the Musée d'Art Hyacinthe Rigaud in 2017 has led to the rebirth of a museum that is two hundred years old. A real asset to the city of Perpignan, the Rigaud museum is now the spearhead of the city's cultural development. Nestling in the heart of two private mansions, the collections present a panorama of Perpignan's art history from the 15th to the 20th century.
Visitors are greeted by the Trinity Altarpiece, a masterpiece of the Gothic period.
Works by Hyacinthe Rigaud mark out the Baroque period, while the modern period is centred around works by Aristide Maillol, Pablo Picasso, Raoul Dufy, Jean Lurçat and Georges Daniel de Monfreid.
Temporary exhibitions highlight artists with links to Perpignan.
