27 m high, the Cap Béar lighthouse is equipped with a 3-panel lens creating 3 successive white flashes every 15 seconds and with a range of 30 miles.
Its monumental dressed stone base is constructed of granite from Roquefort (Aude), the shaft in pink rubble and the corner chains in granite. The upper part forms a corbelling: false machicolations support a cut stone balustrade. The particularity of the building lies in its circular shaft completely covered with opaline tiles up to the ceiling under the watch room.
